Name: Yang Jie
Nationality: China
Course of Study: Foundation for Business Studies
Campus: Botany Downs |
"My name is Yang Jie. I am from China.I have been in New Zealand for about 8 months and in that time I have really enjoyed my studies at the Institute. I am studying the Foundation for Business Studies programme. After I finish this programme this year I hope to study at Massey University.
The main attraction of study here is the lecturers. They have not only taught me how to use English in real life situations, but also about the subjects of Marketing, Economics, Mathematics and Computing. With this knowledge I hope to achieve my dream of completing a business degree at university. The relationship between the tutors and students is fantastic. I consider my tutors to be my friends also. The ease of communication with my tutors has certainly helped with my learning.
At the Institute, I have met many students who came from many different countries and this is very interesting because it means that I can learn about all their different cultures. I found that study in New Zealand is better than China, not only because study in New Zealand improves my knowledge, but also because I can learn how to be more independent and face society.
During my time here I matured a great deal and this has given me confidence for my future. So, if you asked me which school do you like the best in New Zealand? I would have to say New Zealand Institute of Education.
New Zealand is a wonderful place. The people are friendly and the environment is suited to study. I am so glad that I chose New Zealand.

Course of Study: Advanced Computing and Webpage Design (Level 4)
Campus: Takapuna |
"My name is Maeve Lynch and I am from London. I love to travel, meet new people and experience different lifestyles and I was lucky enough to spend a year in New Zealand.
I lived in Auckland (in between my travels) and signed up for the Level 4 Certificate in Computing and Webpage Design course at the Institute at Takapuna campus.
I have always been interested in the Internet and wanted to learn how to make websites!
Everyone was very friendly and I made some great friends that I am still in touch with. The course was cool – but I was glad to get those computing assignments over with and get on with the webpage design!
Since getting back to London I have made 3 sites for friends with small businesses and still enjoy learning new skills and programs. Good luck, and, most importantly, enjoy the course!"
